Country Girl Stuck In The City

A world of black and white...
Skyscraping buildings that all look alike,
Impatient sportscars fly by the girl
walking down the florescently lit sidewalk
gazing into the empty sky
wondering why she's still here.
Always dreaming of somewhere else...
A world virtually untouched by the destruction of man,
Its open blue skies reflect in her eyes,
The sun setting on open waters.
Staring into the starlit sky,
She reflects on her blessed life.
Experiencing true freedom in a place
where time is not an object
and life is but an adventure.

I'm Gone

So you say we're best friends 'till the end?
Well, theres two sides to every story
and this is where mine ends.

All you've ever done is take
and I have nothing else to give.
You stick around for the good times
but none of the bad.
I hope you know I won't be
missing what we never had.

They say what goes around comes around,
girl you got it bad.
Between the promises you just can't keep
and the lies you tell,
yea you're in deep.

You can't fix something so broken.
Don't try to run to me,
Im gone.

Choices.

Have you ever been faced with a life-changing decision that is all yours to make?

Last night I was thinking about the major transition I'm currently making in my life: college. How can such a small word mean so much? It means getting away from a life ruled by parents and a whole new world of freedom. It means an opportunity to have a better life through education and hard work (so cliche). And it also means starting all over in a new environment with new people and new professors (ooo sounds fancy!)

With every school sending me letter after letter convincing me to consider them, how do I choose just one?

This is the hardest decision of my life so far. Not only because of the number of choices, but also the pressure from peers and relatives! I can choose to stick with my closest friends that I've been in high school with for the last 4 years, or I can uproot myself from everything I've created here and start over once again (after moving 11 times, you'd think I would choose to stay put...)

So that's the big question; do I stick close to home to be near my family and friends... or do I move on with my life in a foreign place, one that I've only dreamed of living in.

Just Starting Out

My first Blog!

I have to say, I'm often very good at saying exactly what's on my mind. Hopefully that will come to good use while writing in this blog. I love reading about what other people are going through, and I hope that by writing about the wonders and challenges of my life I will be helping others to put their feelings into words by reading mine. After all, that's how most songs are born!
